Flamingo Rendering tips

There are no Rhinojewel gemological materials in Flamingo material library.

If Flamingo is installed or updated after the installation of Rhinojewel, it will not possible to see Rhinojewel gemological and metal materials among all the Flamingo materials. To be able to use Rhinojewel materials in Flamingo you need to copy its MLIB file in the folder from where Flamingo retrieves all the materials.

1. Go to the folder C:\Program Files\Techjewel\Rhinojewel 5.0\Resources\Materials and copy the file RHINOJEWEL.mlib

2. Copy the RHINOJEWEL.mlib file in the folder where Flamingo stores all materials. Location of this folder will depend on your operating system and the version of Flamingo:

a) Flamingo 1.1 on Windows XP:

C:\Program Files\RhinoCeros 4.0\Plug-ins\Flamingo\English\Libraries

b) Flamingo 1.1 on Windows Vista:

C:\Program Files\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\Flamingo\English\Libraries

b) Flamingo 2.0 on Windows XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McNeel\Flamingo\2.0\English\Libraries

b) Flamingo 2.0 on Windows Vista:

C:\ProgramData\McNeel\Flamingo\2.0\English\Libraries

Note I: You will need to allow the display of “hidden files and folders” to see the “Application Data” folder. To allow this, start the Windows Explorer - Tools - Folder options - View tab, change the control in Advanced settings.

Note II: In case you have 64bits machine with Windows Vista, instead of "Program files" you will have to browse "Program files (x86)" folder.
